RICKY DÁVILA FEATURING AT 12 STAR GALLERY

Taking the Iberian Peninsula both as fictional terrain and as real-life setting, Ibérica by Ricky Dávila (Bilbao, 1964) is a personal inventory of the peninsula’s society; it maps a living-space whose broad outlines are charted through portraits of inhabitants. The project is the result of photographing chance encounters of very different kinds; with his grandmother, with the young wife of a friend, with a soldier he bumped into, or with a sailor he met on a fishing-boat.
