La Casa Encendida
Obra Social Cajamadrid

In 1998 Caja Madrid asked La Fábrica to come up with ideas for the use of a historical building, closed at the time, on Madrid’s Ronda de Valencia. That was the start of a long collaboration that culminated in the inauguration in September 2002 of La Casa Encendida, Obra Social Caja Madrid’s cultural centre, which has revolutionised the cultural offer for young people in Madrid.

Directed by José Guirao, La Casa Encendida works in four areas: Culture, Education, Support and Environment where it offers a very broad agenda of exhibitions, concerts, film cycles, theatre and dance, courses, workshops, lectures, presentations, premieres, meetings and other events.

La Fábrica was in charge of the entire design and start-up of the project, including aspects such as the general concept, the definition of activities, facilities and services, coordination of the building’s rehabilitation and furnishing plan, the preparation of working budgets, the centre’s name and image, the materials and acts of public presentation of the project, design and contents of its website, development of the management model and personnel selection, design and publishing of catalogues and the definition, scheduling and production of activities: exhibitions, cinema, concerts, dance, courses, workshops and lectures.

La Fábrica currently works with La Casa Encendida on scheduling and coordinating some of their activities.
