CREATE A WEBPAGE FOR YOUR PHOTOGRAPHY

Create a Webpage for Your Photography is a workshop designed for photographers that wish to self-edit a webpage without prior knowledge in web administration. The photo editor Gonzalo Golpe and the graphic designer Rubén García-Castro will help the participants to develop a personalized webpage for artists. All of the webpages will be made with free templates.

The first class will be dedicated to conceptualizing your webpage. The photo editor and graphic designer will help each participant edit the images and texts, establish the hierarchy of contents in the webpage layout, as well as determine the graphic details. The objective is to generate a webpage of each artists an image that is coherent with their discourse.

The participants will have a week to introduce these contents to the chosen template and the second class will be dedicated to reviewing the webpages. The photo editor and graphic designer, together with the group, will analyze the results of each webpage, and give feedback to make final adjustments before their publication.

Gonzalo Golpe is an editor and profesor. He holds a BA in Hispanic Literature and an associate´s degree in Edition and Publication of Texts with the Universidad de Deusto. He has extensive professional experience in graphic arts, a sector that he has worked in as a production specialist, sales representative and exhibition designer. Since 2010 he is director of Siete de un Golpe, a workshop specialized in editorial and exhibition production. He collaborates as a professor in different programs where he leads courses related to self-edition and self-publication of books and graphic production. He gives conferences and workshops in and outside of Madrid, city where he resides. He is the author of A Rapa, an artist´s edition created in collaboration with Juan Baraja and he is completing an essay on the editorial process that will be published soon.

Rubén García-Castro is head of the design studio Astrolab Estudio. During his professional experience he has developed editorial projects with photographers and artists, working from the concept. In his work the process holds as much value as the result and he always respects the aesthetic and formal discourse that the artists seeks to communicate. He also developed visual identity projects, working from a strategic point of view, taking care of the aesthetic, typography, colors, graphics, and other elements that make up the visual system in order to obtain an effective visual communication. Noteworthy projects in the editorial field include artist’s books such as DHAKA de Jesús Moraime, which was selected in by the Fedrigoni Top Award and SelfPortrait by Dahlia Kavaliauskaite, which was selected in by FotoBook Festival.
