312,000 VISITORS ATTEND THE EXHIBITIONS AND ACTIVITIES OF MADRID DESIGN FESTIVAL 2019

The second edition of Madrid Design Festival has received a total of 312.000 visitors during February.  The festival welcomed 105 participating institutions, brands and spaces which hosted 248 activities with the participation of 420 designers and professionals and 66 exhibitions and urban installations.

The Fernán Gómez Centro Cultural de la Villa hosted the largest number of visitors in the exhibitions Darro. Design and Art 1959–1979, Careful Design. Contemporary Spanish Crafts and Super-Packaging. Design Serving Design. 

MadridDesignPRO, the festival’s professional programme, brought together renowned professionals like Li Edelkoort, Petrus Palmér, Jan Boelen, Benjamin Hubert and Jaime Hayon for 150 hours of activities at COAM.

The complete citu has been involved in the development of the festival as shown in the Festival OFF that hosted almost twice as many spaces as last edition with a total of 77 shops, spaces, showrooms, restaurants and design studios.

The festival recognised Gaetano Pesce and El último grito with the Madrid Design Awards

The exhibitions continue in different spaces around the city: Fine Print: Illustration and Fashion in the Museo ABC until the 19th of May; The Power of the Image. Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada in the Museo del Traje until the 31st of March; and the four shows at the Museo Nacional de Artes Decorativas, among others
