Our era is dominated and determined by digital technologies. Our existence and identity is constantly transformed and developed by interfaces that come to us as digitalized images and texts. These interfaces oscillate between reality and fiction. They are the contemporary substance of reality and truth. This is articulated in some specific contexts: societies that have to negotiate in historically traumatic conditions towards a globalized world that give us an unreal idea of happiness and peace. The works in the exhibition express the necessity of doubt in the ways of seeing, remembering and communicate the real world to the mainstream, oscillating between spectacular truth and dramatized fictions.

Most of the artists are from countries such us China or Eastern Europe, that are living drastic changes from communism to capitalism. Other artists are from Asia or Africa, in which most of the countries are dealing with postcolonial and geopolitical conflicts. They are all quite individual voices that express the general doubts and wished from their societies as well as their artistic and intellectual interests.
